Popular and The Best Beaches of Goa

Goa has been India’s favorite beach destination – the land of sun, sand, and sea, . The enchanting beauty of its popular beaches has put Goa high on the world tourism map too. Every year, Goa sees a flock of tourists from across the globe.  All of them get mesmerized by the natural picturesque scenery that Goa has to offer.
Goa has a fabulous coastline of a whopping 105 kms and an endless list of beaches.  Each beach has a different tale to tell. Here is a look at the top five beaches in Goa and what makes them so intriguing.

Agonda Beach:

This beach is considered as one of the best beaches in India and one of the most scenic beaches in Asia.  This is a good enough reason for you to visit and admire the beauty of this clean white beach. Although it’s a very popular beach, it’s not overly crowded. Another great thing about this beach is the sighting of the rare Olive Ridley turtles that you can see in the turtle center. This place also gives you an opportunity to rent a tent and camp along the shores. You can gaze through a starry night as you let the sea breeze and lashing sounds of waves create some music for your soul. However this is avoidable during the monsoons due to high tides.

Arambol Beach:

Time travel to witness the hippie culture still in existence and get a cultural glimpse that is exclusive to Goa. Flocked by foreigners, Arambol has a charm that is unmatched. Enchanting sunsets, seeing people doing yoga and meditation, artists playing live music, impromptu gigs, jam sessions and even a local night market on Saturdays right at the beach, Arambol is about all of this and much more. There are a lot of options for eating and drinking as the beach is lined up with quite a few restaurants and bars suiting all kinds of pockets.

Baga Beach:

This is the most frequented,  crowded and popular beach in North Goa. It is especially popular with the ones who dig nightlife by the beach. Shacks, clubs, music events, karaoke nights, and endless options for food and drinks make Baga the most happening beach in Goa. The road to the beach is also lined with tattoo studios, fashion apparel and other knick-knacks that you would like to buy. Baga also offers ample water sports opportunities barring the monsoon season. But yes the nightlife and other attractions are all available year round.

Mobor Beach:

It’s one of the preferred beaches in south Goa when it comes to cleanliness and crystal clear waters. It’s also much quieter and less crowded.  Thus it serves an excellent opportunity to spend some quality time with loved ones. Build sand castles, take a stroll along the sea or simply sunbathe, relax and enjoy Instagram worthy sunsets. The beach is especially known for the handicraft shops that it’s lined with, so shopping is a must when visiting this beach.

Betul Beach:

If you want to witness the charm of Goan villages, this is the beach for you. It has a  17th-century fort and a peaceful coastal fishing village. This beach offers a serenity that you won’t find elsewhere. Take a dip or two in the small lagoons, laze under the coconut grooves or do some fishing with the villagers or unleash some Goan history through the walls of the fort, this beach is definitely worth a visit.
